The early years of the 20th century witnessed many avant-garde innovations, as people freed themselves from the constraints of the late 19th- century Victorian society. Both fashions and the arts were tremendously affected by new interpretations of classical styles and outright revolts against tradition. Isadora Duncan (1878-1927) was an influential figure in the 1910s and today is regarded as the founder of modern dance. She revolutionized dance with her free-form interpretive movements, encouraged arts education for children, and scandalized audiences by wearing non-restrictive, flowing robes that she adapted from Classical Greek vase paintings.

Our Greek Island Dress sewing pattern pays homage to this unforgettable woman. The Dress is a loose-fitting sheath with back zipper and narrow shoulder straps; the front and the back yoke can be plain or embellished as desired. The Jacket has a center back godet that adds flare without adding fullness, single button-and-loop closure at the front, and a dramatic collar that extends over the sleeves like a filmy canopy. Optional braid or trim can suggest Classical Greece, French Country, or any other era. The Tunic is a breeze to sew, with front and back sailor collar and floating sleeve panels that can hang freely or be attached along the top of the arm. Braid trim, ball fringe, or other optional embellishment make this ensemble a fashion for any creative visionary.

Suggested fabrics: For the Dress, choose silk or polyester crepe de chine or charmeuse. For the Tunic and Jacket, choose soft, filmy fabrics such as chiffon, georgette, gauze, voile, or novelty cut velvet.

Great value and full-functioned.
Color: Black
This is a simple, elegant little scale with timer. It's perfect for use with a small espresso machine like my Breville Bambino Plus. It shifts easily from counter use weighing beans before grinding, to placing on the drip tray to time and weigh shots. The top is smooth and water resistant. I think it's a great value.

Premium experience from a scale
This scale is not cheap, but it comes with a premium experience. The overall build quality is excellent, and it looks and feels great. Scale is extremely sensitive and response, and very consistent. Quick to zero, quick to turn on. Display is clear and easy to read. Well insulated from water, with only the bottom being semi-exposed to liquids (note that it is NOT waterproof, so still be careful - do not submerge it). It also has an espresso mode which can be toggled on/off. That mode will automatically tare when placing things on it, meaning you can weigh your beans, take off the bowl and put back on a cup to brew the espresso into, all without tareing manually. It also detects when you're actually brewing, and it does so by detecting a steady flow of liquid. This specifically can be a bit finicky, it may or may not work for you depending on your machine and how you brew. My only single complaint is the volume of the beeping. By default it plays a loud beep whenever you're using the touch buttons. It is very loud and I turned it off immediately. Unfortunately it seems there is no way to lower the volume on the beeps. Not a deal-breaker at all for me, but something to consider if you care about audio feedback.

Reliable scale, great for starting on a budget while still getting fairly solid results
This scale performs wonderfully and is very reliable. I will say the only issue I am having is that it seems to be very very touchy with not getting an exact weight reading and flickers a lot. I don't think this is really an issue as it might just be super sensitive. But for the price it's absolutely worth it

You Don't Really Need This, But...
This combination coffee scale and timer works exactly as advertised. It measures weights up to 2000 grams with 1/10 gram accuracy. The scale has three operating modes: espresso, pour over and manual. In espresso mode, the scale will automatically tare after a cup is placed on it then automatically start the count up timer and weigh incoming espresso as it starts to pour. In pour over mode, it will automatically tare after your cup/dripper/filter is in place. Then it weighs out the coffee dose as you add it. After you tare again manually, the timer and scale will start as you pour hot water. This allows you to let the saturated coffee grounds off gas for the desired number of seconds before continuing the pour. Manual mode is just that. You control the tare function and start the timer yourself. Battery capacity is great so USB charging will be infrequently required. Accessories include a short USB-A to USB-C cord and a clip-on silicone heat shield to protect the scale from hot espresso. Coffee spills are easy to cleanup and don't seem to have any ill effects on the scale itself. One gripe though: the weighing platform is only about 10 cm square so anything larger than a small coffee cup will block part of the digital displays. After all, the scale needs to fit inside an espresso machine. It isn't a full size kitchen scale. But really, do you need this device? If you want to be ultra precise in your coffee measurements, you love gadgets, or you revel in the coffee making ritual, the answer is certainly YES!

Scale programming and stabilizing
It took me a little time to figure out the different programming modes but now I know how to get quickly to the program I need for the coffee I brew. The scale is very sensitive and it takes a second until the scale stabilizes. All in all, I like it.
